The SonicWeld Rx system is an innovative solution for space maintenance and bone fixation that utilizes rigid, resorbable polymer pins and barriers. This clinical presentation/hands-on workshop will focus on alveolar defects seen immediately following tooth removal with emphasis on evaluation, classification, and treatment guidelines. Parameters to be assessed include gingival biotype, buccal plate status, number of bony walls affected, and soft tissue status. Diagnostic and treatment protocols will be featured that include evaluation, timing, and sequence of extraction site reconstruction for both soft and hard tissue grafting. Emphasis will be on clinical and CT evaluation as well as treatment of both esthetic and non-esthetic zone sites. The hands-on segment will include models for step by step protocols for socket grafting including the application of particulate mineralized allograft with PTFE membranes, connective tissue grafts and free gingival grafts.
